What a tarp does
A tarp fastened over the damaged area keeps rain out of the attic, the insulation, the drywall and whatever's under it. The longer water gets in, the more it damages, so the tarp is the first move. It's temporary. It buys time for the roof to dry out, for the inspection, and for the repair to be written up and scheduled.

Safety comes first
If the damage is from a storm that's still going, crews wait until it settles before going up. Wet, windy roofs are how people get hurt. Once the weather passes, the tarp goes on. Whether the damage is from weather or fire, the goal is the same: secure the structure and stop the water.
What happens after the tarp
- Call or send the form. Someone from the office calls or texts to set a day and time.
- Someone gets on the roof. Not a drone shot from the street. A person walks every slope and looks at the flashing, the vents, the valleys and the pipe boots.
- You get the photos the same day. You see what we saw. Nothing is described to you that you can't look at yourself.
- The price comes in writing before any work starts. If a repair will fix it, the estimate says repair. Replacement only gets written up when the roof needs it.
The tarp goes on first. Then, once the roof is safe to walk, someone does the full inspection, you get the photos, and the written estimate tells you whether the fix is a repair or a replacement.

FAQ
Questions people ask
How fast can you get a tarp on my roof?
Call (210) 788-1593 and tell us what's happening. The line is answered 24/7. Timing depends on the weather and how many calls came in from the same storm. If it's still storming, crews wait for it to pass before going on the roof. In the meantime, move anything you can out from under the leak and put a bucket down.
What should I do inside while I wait?
Move furniture, rugs and electronics away from the drip. Put a bucket or pan under it. If the ceiling is bulging with water, poke a small hole with a screwdriver at the lowest point so it drains into the bucket instead of collapsing. Turn off power to that room if water is near fixtures or outlets.
How long can a tarp stay on?
A tarp is a short-term fix measured in days or weeks, not months. Sun and wind wear it out, and a torn tarp lets water right back in. The point is to stop the damage while the roof dries, gets inspected and the repair gets scheduled. The written estimate will give you the timeline for the permanent fix.
Does the tarp mean I need a new roof?
No. The tarp just stops the water. What the roof needs is a separate question, and it gets answered by the inspection once the roof is safe to walk. Plenty of tarped roofs end up as a repair to one slope or one section. The estimate says repair when a repair will fix it.
Do you tarp commercial and multi-family buildings too?
Yes. Flat and low-slope roofs on commercial and multi-family buildings get tarped and secured the same way, and emergency board-up for broken windows and openings is part of that work. Property managers can call the same emergency line. The follow-up inspection and written scope come after, like any other job.
